INSPIRATIONS FOR EXP 3
I guess if you merge the words table and power, you get a table like below, where leaders of powerful nations come together to discuss, well, stuff.
The landscape is influenced by the valley that N.Y.'s central park creates in this urban landscape It carves a distinctive straight line through the surrounding skyscrapers, forming like a void from above.
Merkel's office is initially inspired by my research on Chicago skyscrapers for History & theory. I wondered if each of the tubes could move and thus would create changing and dynamic spaces, it would be pretty cool. The tower was a symbol of power, being the tallest towers for years.
Kerr's space is directly influenced by her work. I wanted to mimic the ripples of the fabric to create an exterior for her space. The free flowing form creates a dynamic moving form, with subtle curves and waves.
Well, the bridge is influenced by a bridge. haha, surprise! I guess i cant ignore all the 'engineery' images that i see when i think "bridge"
PROBLEMS WITH SANDBOX~FRUSTRATION!!!
Extremely frustrated at sandbox. Firstly, textures are all stuffed up. Up until now, the textures showed up normally, but today, when i opened it up, all the textures have turned into some flashing black and white dots. Tried to restart and export it again, but to no avail. Tried with different formats for textures (tif, jpg, png) but doesnt work. Decided to give it up and go with plan white =[
And now it decides to crash on me once every hour and some components are missing.....ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

EXP3 DRAFTS | MERKEL'S OFFICE
The original design of Merkel's space, consisting of 9 components thats moves up and down independently to form spaces for different functions. Decided to scrap because of complexity and did not fit well with other parts of the bridge.
New design, somewhat a scaled model of above design. To keep the idea of components moving independently to form spaces for different functions.

Draft Sketchup model of platform and "fabric" framwork for Kerr's office. Her office will be perched above, supported by the fabric-like exterior (not yet done)

Some quick drafts of bridge designs
evolution of the original designs of a spiraling bridge but decided to scrap it since didn't look right.
Current design of the bridge. Instead of negating the aspect of structure and make a free flowing and floating design, i chose to emphasis the popular but ugly truss structure and twist it into hyperbolic? form. Inside will house the offices which will rely on the frame to stay upright.
